About James

Iām James ā a London-based training consultant, academic, and former Detective, specialising in investigative practice, interviewing, disclosure, and organisational decision-making.
Years of high-stakes investigate work has taught me the value of detail, fairness, and resilience. These skills are highly transferable across professions, and Iām passionate about sharing them.
I combine operational insight with academic expertise to help organisations and individuals handle complex, sensitive investigations with confidence and integrity.
I can provide expert training, advise on best practice, or act as an impartial investigator, delivering objective, professional, and defensible outcomes. I have a particular focus on Investigative Interviewing and the Disclosure process and have delivered training to law enforcement, public sector agencies, and private organisations in the UK and overseas.
I have contributed to published works, including The Routledge International Handbook of Critical Policing Studies and the 2025 edition of Blackstone's Student Police Officer Handbook
